Ellen Broadhurst is a multi-disciplinary artist working across sculpture and experimental film, and the first artist to take up residence at Milly's Acre through the Rook ARI program.
Rook ARI is an artist-run residency program that brings fresh, thoughtful artists into the Milly's Acre Art Studio on 12-week rotations. Each residency introduces a new creative practice, a new series of workshops, and a new reason to visit.
The program champions emerging and up-and-coming artists who are doing interesting work, giving them a studio, an audience, and the space to share their craft with the community.
During her residency with Rook ARI, Ellen is running hands-on clay tile workshops for kids and adults.
You’ll roll and print your own wall-hangable tile, choosing from Ellen’s designs or using your own image. If you’d like to use your own image, email it to ellenbroadhurst@hotmail.com at least 24 hours before your session, and Ellen will convert it into a blue line drawing for you to print.
After your session, Ellen sands, varnishes, and mounts each tile over the following week. Come back to the studio to collect your finished tile when it’s ready, or Ellen can arrange delivery for a small fee.

Three sessions per day: 12-1pm, 2-3pm, 4-5pm
Workshops run throughout the day with hour breaks between sessions.
Spots are limited and bookings are essential, book ahead to secure your place.
